Hi, I’m Mike Stagg. Welcome to the Where the Alligators Roam website where you can get podcasts of the radio show of the same name, as well as follow my blog of the same name.
The name comes from a Nick Lowe song, “In the Heart of the City,” which was released back in the late 1970s. I’ve used the line “Where the Alligators Roam” as the title of my newspaper columns as well as an earlier version of this blog which focused on Louisiana politics.
The show started on June 4, 2016, although technical issues kept most of it from actually airing and streaming. Don Clausen was my first guest. He’s a long-time friend as well as a social worker. We had the latest version of what has been a long-running conversation about the nature of addiction and how much of a role society plays in creating addictions. You can find the link to the podcast of that show in the right column of the front page of this site.
The radio show airs on KROF Talk Radio 960 AM on Saturdays at 5 p.m. It streams live at the same time. The podcasts will be posted within a couple of days of the show, sooner as we get more proficient.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you listen to the show, either over the radio, the internet or TownSquare Media’s mobile app RadioPup (available for iOS and Android devices). And, you can always come back here for the podcasts.
My guest on this Saturday’s program is Mark Davis of the Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law & Policy. We’ll be discussing water law in Louisiana and the development of a water code for the state by members of the Louisiana Law Institute. That program will start at 5:06 p.m. on Saturday, June 11.
Thanks again for stopping by.
